“In order to see the high-def images and videos from your camera or smartphone on your HDTV, a HDMI cable is required. Ranging between 2.3mm and 1.9mm in outer diameter, these next generation ultra portable cables are a great accessory for mobile applications – perfect for carrying with you and watching video in pure HD,” commented Peter Smyth, CEO RedMere.

Currently, HDMI cables on the market are bulky, they do not allow for easy portability and ease of use while on the move or at home. RedMere’s chip technology enables a cable design that is significantly thinner, lighter and environmentally friendly, matching the sleek appearance of the portable consumer electronics they connect to and meeting the requirements in the V1.4 HDMI standard.

RedMere’s chip technology removes up to 80% of the copper and PVC content. The technology minimizes the data errors that usually occur when very high speed signals are transmitted over copper using active equalization techniques.

“Embedding RedMere’s chip technology boosts the signal directly in the cable, allowing for longer length HDMI cables as well,” commented Ruud van der Linden, CMO RedMere.
